Self Suspension Skill-Share: Upper Body Harnesses

Date(s) - 12/08/2017 - 12/09/2017
10:00 PM - 12:00 AM

Rope is for every body type and self-tying can build skills for tops, bottoms, and everyone in between. Come to GD2 for a skill-share on techniques and tips to help manage the safety and the dual mindset needed to be your own rigger and rope bottom at the same time.

Upper Body Harnesses

Adapting Chest Harnesses for self tying is a great start, but that are lots of additional ways to use rope on the upper body. Come discuss ways to customize upper body rope to your preferences, and some creative work-arounds for self-tying!

This skill-share encourages a learning mindset. Everyone has something to share and everyone has something to learn. We will use the Open space principles and Law of mobility to guide our discussions.

Please come into this skill share with some basic self tying competencies. These are some recommended components to have in your muscle memory:
*Single Column tie: Locking Larks Head
*Chest harness Shinju
*Hip Harness Swiss Seat

We also welcome newcomers. If you are interested in tying along, you should have at least basic familiarity with rope.

*Some Rope Vocabulary basics compiled by the amazing Ebi McKnotty…
*How to tie a Lark’s Head:…
*Half Hitching:…

This is a space that is welcoming and inclusive of all. If we do not meet this goal, please mention it to GD2 Staff or your host, so that we can do better.
