COVID-19 Protocol
GD2 & THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
We are so grateful for the bedrock support and patience of our members, volunteers, and staff.
Since reopening, GD2 has been fortunate to receive even more support from those groups and we are proud to say that we continue to feel well positioned for success. Our membership has rebounded and now exceeds our pre-pandemic level. We could not have survived through these challenging times without your support.
With the ending of the public health emergency and updated public health guidance we are updating our Covid-19 protocols, effective 5/19/2023.
OUR COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
We reserve the right to revisit these guidelines and adjust them to reduce risk of transmission of Covid-19 for our attendees, our staff and our volunteers. To receive announcements about changes to these protocols please sign up for our newsletter.
Self-Screening
GD2 expects all attendees to self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms and risk of exposure before visiting the club. Do not come to the club if, in the last 48 hours, you have had:
- Symptoms of COVID-19, including, but not limited to:
- A fever or chills
- A sore throat
- Loss of smell or taste not attributable to another condition
- Conjunctivitis (pink eye or red, itchy eyes)
- A new cough or one not attributable to another condition (such as a chronic condition)
- Shortness of breath not attributable to another condition
- Close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, or other respiratory illness, within the last 14 days.
Any attendee displaying these symptoms may be asked to leave. All attendees who either (a) test positive for COVID-19 or (b) have confirmed exposure to COVID-19 are expected to return to GD2 only after adhering to public health guidance regarding isolation and quarantine.
Vaccination
As of May 2023, we will no longer require proof of vaccination upon entry and we will discontinue our exposure notification policy. We strongly recommend vaccination as a widely available and effective tool for mitigation.
On May 3, 2023, the CDC condensed their Covid-19 vaccine recommendation, for most people, to just one (1) updated Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine (aka the bivalent booster), regardless of receiving any original COVID-19 vaccines.
We ask that everyone take this approach to reasonably reduce risk for our attendees, volunteers, and staff, and as individuals who are all part of the community that we serve.
Mask Use
GD2 strongly recommend but does not require mask wearing as part of risk reduction strategies to mitigate spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses. Surgical or KN95 masks are available at entry and upon request. Masks will be provided for free, to any attendee as a courtesy.
To provide attendees who have heightened risk protocols, we are establishing a monthly play event that will require face masks to be worn at all times within a designated play area.
Air Quality, Hand Sanitizer, Hand Washing
In addition to employing filters in our HVAC system, GD2 maintains ten separate HEPA filter air purifiers sufficient to circulate and filter the air in the entire club every 15 minutes or so. We will continue to provide stations with hand sanitizer that will be available in every room and encourage everyone to wash their hands frequently.
Cleaning/Disinfection
As always, everyone is required to clean equipment after use with CaviCide1, which is provided at stations throughout the club. Spray the equipment liberally and wait 3-5 minutes before wiping the equipment clean. When used as directed Cavicide1 is classified by the EPA as a tier 1 disinfectant for emerging Viral pathogens like Covid-19 and MPox.
We encourage everyone to clean equipment before use as an additional precaution.
Again, we are grateful to everyone who has supported us both before and after Covid-19 and will continue to provide official updates here on our website and through our newsletter. Please update your email address here, as needed. Any questions regarding these updates can be directed to info@galleriadomain.org where it will be addressed directly by the Board of Directors.
